Are you looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer – Nuclear to join our team in Bowmanville.

This posting is part of a proactive talent search as we plan for upcoming growth. You will be a part of our growing nuclear team where we ensure world-class project delivery through the skills of our people, methodologies, governance, and systems. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Prepare engineering work packages to ensure that project budgets and schedules are met
Define I&C project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
Develop and/or review I&C deliverables such as design requirements, P&IDS, PFDs, layout drawings/instrumentation drawings, datasheets, installation details, elementary/connection diagrams, prepare technical specifications for I&C systems and more
Willing to mentor junior and intermediate staff
Participate in HAZOP, COMS and other safety related reviews as required
Interface with other engineering disciplines including participation in design reviews

Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates

Actively manage relationships with vendors and clients

You bring to the role:

B.Sc./B.Eng. in electrical, I&C, or systems engineering from an accredited university
Registration as a professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible to obtain.
Valid security clearance for Canada, or eligible to obtain
Minimum 10 years of project experience specific to instrumentation and control systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to function with minimal supervision
Experience with working inside a Nuclear Quality Management System compliant with CSA N286, NQA-1, and / or ISO 19443
Familiar with grading approach for engineering and procurement activities
Sound understanding of engineering codes CSA N series, ISA and IEC
Experience with construction & commissioning
Experience working in the Canadian nuclear industry with clients such as Ontario Power Generation, Bruce Power and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories
Experience with Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes within the Canadian nuclear industry including CANDU station configuration management systems
Preference for those with DTL or DE qualifications at Canadian nuclear facilities
Eligible to work on export-controlled projects subject to 10 CFR 810

Base salary range: $130,000 - $180,000

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical, instrumentation and control, or systems engineering, professional engineer registration in Ontario or eligibility to obtain it, and at least 10 years of relevant project experience. Candidates should have Canadian nuclear industry experience, familiarity with nuclear quality standards and engineering codes, and be eligible for Canadian security clearance and work on export-controlled projects.
