Hatch is currently seeking a Mineral Processing Coop position in our Vancouver Office. If you have strong technical and interpersonal skills, and are excited by the mining industry, we want to hear from you.

Working closely with our senior engineers and designers, your primary role will be to act as a technical resource on challenging projects. You will apply analytical, conceptual, research, and planning skills to design various processes for precious metals and base metals projects in North America and around the world.

The position will allow the candidate to directly apply and develop his or her knowledge in process design, project engineering and financial analysis at various levels of the project life-cycle, from concept to execution and operation.

What will you do?
Provide Process Engineering design support to multidiscipline teams on brownfield, greenfield, de-bottle necking, construction, expansion, and operations projects
Participate in the development of Process Design Criteria, Process Flow Diagrams and Mass Balances in a variety of commodities
Basic design/specification and detailed design of process equipment, technical selection, calculations, sizing
Preparing RFQs, including specifications, scopes of work and data sheets
Evaluate Vendor quotations for technical adequacy, budgetary constraints and client requirements
Preparing CAPEX, OPEX, and project reports
Preparing and checking documents, calculations and drawing deliverables

What you’ll bring:
Actively progressing a Bachelor's degree in Mining & Mineral Processing Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
Excellent analytical, writing and oral communication skills
Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to interact successfully with all levels of staff, clients and vendors

Qualifications:
Candidates who have excelled in their studies at the undergraduate and graduate level in the discipline and knowledge of Mining & Mineral Processing Engineering are sought. In addition to demonstrating strong academic performance, candidates require good communication skills, an aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams, and a commitment to achieving engineering excellence. Candidates are requested to submit their cover letters, résumés and must submit transcripts (official/unofficial) as one MS Word file.

Compensation:

Range: $26.00 - $34.00

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
