Lease Administrator

Job Type: Contract

Contract Duration: Month to Month, rolling

Pay Rate: Up to $47/hr

Location: Montreal, QC (8:30 to 5pm)

Our client is a leading commercial real estate services organization with a strong reputation for delivering innovative real estate solutions across diverse portfolios.

Your New Role

As the Lease Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing lease administration and financial analysis functions for a portfolio of commercial real estate clients. You will be responsible for reviewing lease agreements, analyzing landlord billings, managing financial reconciliations, and ensuring lease obligations are accurately administered.

What You Need to Do

Process and approve landlord invoices, including operating cost reconciliations and variance analysis.
Review and interpret lease clauses related to operating expenses, taxes, utilities, and other financial obligations.
Analyze landlord billings to verify accuracy, compliance, and cost reasonableness.
Conduct annual comparative cost analyses and provide recommendations to clients.
Obtain and review supporting documentation from landlords and reconcile findings.
Represent clients during lease audits and negotiate expense recoveries.
Maintain lease and financial data within lease management systems.
Prepare recurring financial reports, reconciliations, budgets, and portfolio reporting.
Monitor critical lease dates and generate related reporting.
Review and abstract leases, amendments, notices, subleases, easements, and other legal real estate documents.
Support lease accounting activities and financial commitments in accordance with IFRS 16.
Collaborate closely with clients, landlords, legal professionals, and internal stakeholders.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Post-secondary education in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of commercial real estate experience.
Strong knowledge of commercial lease administration and lease documentation.
Experience reviewing operating costs, reconciliations, audits, and financial reporting.
Understanding of lease accounting principles and IFRS 16 standards is considered an asset.
Strong financial analysis, accounting, and auditing capabilities.
Fully bilingual in English and French, both written and verbal.
Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel.
