Your New Company
Hays has partnered with a leading oil and gas organization seeking a Contracts Analyst Jr. – IT Strategic Sourcing to support a major oil gas company in Calgary. This role supports technology sourcing across software, IT professional services, hardware, networks and telecommunications.
Your New Role
You will support strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives across a diverse technology portfolio, working with IT leaders, business stakeholders and suppliers. You’ll be involved throughout the sourcing lifecycle, from requirements gathering and competitive RFx processes through supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, award and ongoing vendor management.
This is a hybrid role based in downtown Calgary, with Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in office and Wednesday and Friday working from home. The contract runs from November 16, 2026 to March 31, 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing and procurement activities across software, IT professional services, hardware, networks and telecommunications.
- Develop sourcing strategies and manage competitive RFx, RFP and RFQ processes.
- Partner with technology and business stakeholders to understand requirements and upcoming procurement needs.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate commercial terms and contracts.
- Support supplier selection, award recommendations and contract awards.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance and contractual issues.
Must-Have Requirements
- 3+ years of supply chain sourcing experience, including hands-on IT/Information Systems sourcing and contracting.
- Experience sourcing software applications, IT professional services, hardware, networks or telecommunications.
- Experience with strategic sourcing and competitive RFx processes, including RFPs and RFQs.
- Experience with contract negotiations, supplier selection, contract awards and vendor management.
- Degree, designation or formal education in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong stakeholder and relationship-management skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP, SAP Ariba and/or Power BI.
- Experience working with technology-related commercial terms and contractual requirements.
