Role: Data Analyst

Location: One York, ON(Hybrid 1-2 Days a Week)

Type: Contract

Rate: CAD60/hr - CAD65/hr

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst with a strong blend of Investment Management domain experience and technical data analysis expertise. The ideal candidate will leverage data to drive business insights, support investment-related decision-making, and collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology teams. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced SQL skills, and the ability to transform complex data into meaningful recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business and investment decisions.
Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
Perform data quality assessments, reconciliation, and validation activities.
Support investment performance reporting, portfolio analytics, and operational reporting initiatives.
Collaborate with technology, data, and business teams to improve reporting processes and data availability.
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience working within the Investment Management industry.
Strong technical data analysis experience with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying, manipulating, and analyzing data.
Experience with reporting, analytics, and data visualization tools.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

CFA Level I, II, or III.
Experience supporting portfolio management, investment operations, risk reporting, or performance analytics.
Familiarity with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
