Role: Data Architect - Azure Databricks
Location: Toronto, ON(Hybrid)
Type: Contract
Rate: CAD90/hr - CAD100/hr
Job Description:
- Design and setting up enterprise data lake
- Strong on Azure DB, ADLS
- SQL knowledge is a must
- Strong Expertise in Azure(ADF/ADLS), Databricks, Python, Pyspark, SQL, CI-CD (Jenkins, Github), Obs (Dynatrace)
- Expertise on Lakehouse/DB finops
- Working experience with relational and/or NoSQL DB's is a must
- Programming experience (preferably Java/Pyspark/Python) is a must
- Experience with 1 or more BI Tools (Cognos/Power BI/ Sigma/ Strategy) is a plus
- Able to write the complex code and fix the issues
- Should have strong problem solving capability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions independently
Nice to have :
- Exposure to PowerBI dashboard development, AI experience - building agents and skills, understanding of MCP is a plus, Dynatrace
- Functional experience of Retail Banking, capital markets, securities processing will be advantage

Responsibilities
Design and establish an enterprise data lake and deliver robust data solutions based on stakeholder requirements. Write and troubleshoot complex code, working independently and collaborating with stakeholders.
Requirements
Requires strong expertise in Azure services, Databricks, Python or PySpark, SQL, CI/CD, and relational or NoSQL databases. Experience with a BI tool is a plus; Power BI dashboard development, AI agents, MCP, Dynatrace, and financial-services domain experience are additional advantages.
