Design & Selections Manager

Hays is partnered with an award-winning Calgary-based land developer and residential home builder. They have been creating innovative and successful communities across the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area for over 30 years. At the present time they are positioned for their next growth phase with a multi-year land base, strong financial resources, and an exceptional management team, with that they are looking to hire a forward-thinking Design & Selections Manager to lead their interior design function, oversee the homeowner selections process, and drive the design and delivery of their show homes.

📍 Location: Calgary | In Office | Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Develop interior design concepts, finish palettes, furniture and décor packages for show homes and spec homes.
• Manage the design and delivery of show homes from initial concept through procurement, installation and final inspection.
• Oversee homeowner selections, ensuring finishes, upgrades and design decisions are accurately documented and communicated.
• Act as a key point of contact for complex homeowner design and selections questions, providing solutions and resolving issues.
• Review selections, pricing, quantities and supporting documentation within Hyphen Homefront.
• Work closely with Sales, Estimating and Construction to coordinate selections, upgrades, pricing and change requests.
• Attend production meetings and communicate design and selections information to ensure projects progress smoothly through construction.
• Coordinate with suppliers, trades and consultants regarding materials, finishes, specifications, availability and installation requirements.
• Create and review mood boards, finish packages and other design documentation.
• Conduct show home inspections to ensure installed finishes and design elements align with approved selections.
• Identify opportunities to improve the homeowner design experience and overall selections process.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of interior design experience, ideally within production residential homebuilding, development or a design studio environment.
• Diploma or degree in Interior Design or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of new-home residential design, homeowner selections, finish packages and the construction process.
• Experience designing and delivering show homes, spec homes or residential interiors.
• Strong knowledge of interior finishes, materials, furniture, fixtures, colour palettes and current residential design trends.
• Experience working collaboratively with Construction, Estimating, Sales, trades and suppliers.
• Experience with Hyphen Homefront, or similar homebuilder/selections software, would be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package $90K-$110K (dependent on experience) + bonus, benefits including health + dental, RRSP + the week off over Christmas.
