Field Service Technician

Your New Role

As a Field Service Technician, you will provide hands-on technical service and support for industrial process instrumentation and measurement equipment at customer sites throughout Western Canada. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, commission, verify and service instrumentation while working directly with customers to diagnose technical issues and provide practical solutions.

This is a highly mobile role requiring significant travel throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, including travel during winter conditions, along with occasional weekend and emergency call-out work. Technical training will be provided based on your existing experience, with training opportunities in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide field-based service and technical support for industrial process instrumentation and measurement equipment.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, commission, verify, maintain and repair instrumentation at customer and industrial sites.
• Work with process measurement equipment involving flow, pressure, level, temperature, transmitters and controls.
• Diagnose technical issues and provide effective solutions while working directly with customers.
• Travel extensively throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia to support customer sites.
• Complete accurate field-service documentation and maintain customer and technical information using CRM systems.
• Communicate technical information clearly to customers and confidently present information to groups when required.
• Respond to occasional weekend, emergency and last-minute service requirements.

Must-Have Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant industrial instrumentation experience.
• Hands-on experience with process instrumentation, measurement equipment and controls.
• Previous field service or field technician experience, ideally supporting equipment at customer or industrial sites.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, calibration, commissioning, verification and/or repair of instrumentation.
• Experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, utilities, power, mining, manufacturing, water/wastewater or another process industry.
• Relevant instrumentation education, trade certification or equivalent technical training.
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in the field.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout Western Canada, including during winter conditions, and accommodate occasional weekend or emergency work.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills and a valid driver's licence.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Experience with analyzers or gas measurement systems.
• Experience with Endress+Hauser products or comparable industrial instrumentation.
• Journeyman/Journey Person Instrument Mechanic or Red Seal Instrumentation and Control Technician experience.
• Experience servicing multiple OEM instrumentation brands.
• Experience with SAP, Salesforce or comparable systems.
• Previous 24/7 or on-call field-service experience.
• Current safety certifications such as H2S Alive and First Aid.

• Calibration, commissioning, verification and field-service activities are completed to a high technical standard.
• Customers receive dependable technical support and clear communication throughout service activities.
• Service records and customer information are maintained accurately and on time.
• The technician remains flexible and responsive to extensive travel, changing schedules and occasional urgent service requirements.
