Your New Company
This organization is a well-established consulting engineering firm specializing in the assessment, design, rehabilitation, and modernization of existing buildings throughout Southern Ontario. With nearly three decades of experience, they provide mechanical and electrical consulting services to public-sector and institutional clients including municipalities, school boards, healthcare facilities, government agencies, universities, and other owner-operated facilities. Their projects focus on the renewal and improvement of aging building infrastructure through mechanical system upgrades, capital improvement programs, energy efficiency initiatives, and facility rehabilitation projects.
Your New Role
As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and support projects involving the assessment, design, specification, tendering, construction administration, and implementation of mechanical building system upgrades within existing facilities. Projects may include:

- Boiler and heating plant upgrades
- Domestic water and plumbing system replacement projects
- Pumping and hydronic system upgrades
- Existing building assessments and facility condition reviews

You will be responsible for:
- Performing existing building investigations and condition assessments
- Preparing technical reports and engineering recommendations
- Completing mechanical system designs and specifications
- Preparing tender packages and construction documentation
- Managing tendering processes and responding to contractor questions
- Reviewing bids and assisting owners during contractor evaluation
- Reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, change requests and contractor submissions
- Providing construction administration and site review services
- Evaluating contractor requests for extras and advising owners on entitlement and project impacts
- Coordinating projects through construction and close-out
