Your New Role:
As an Intermediate Structural Bridge Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of bridge and transportation infrastructure projects across British Columbia. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technologists, you will be involved in all stages of project delivery, from conceptual and preliminary design through to detailed design, construction support, and project closeout.
Your responsibilities will include the design and analysis of new and existing bridge structures, condition assessments, rehabilitation projects, bridge inspections, contract administration, and project management support. You will work with a diverse range of clients including transportation agencies, municipalities, resource-sector organizations, and private developers. The position also offers opportunities to contribute to proposal preparation, client relationship management, and business development initiatives.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to further develop both technical expertise and project management capabilities while working on impactful infrastructure projects throughout Western Canada. Occasional travel for site inspections and field reviews may be required.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and be eligible for professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC). Candidates should have approximately 7+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, with a strong background in bridge design, inspections, rehabilitation, and construction administration.
Experience with structural analysis, technical report writing, cost estimating, scheduling, tendering, and contract administration will be highly beneficial. Strong communication skills, technical aptitude, project management capabilities, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment are essential. A valid driver's license is required.
