Role: Internal Controls Specialist SOX
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Type: Contract(3.5 Months)
Rate: CAD60/hr - CAD70/hr
Job Description:
Role Deliverables
Role will include completion of control walkthroughs and design assessments,
Assistance management with remediations,
Control documentation
Evidence review and control testing.
Education/Work Experience
Ideal candidate will be a CPA and may also hold a CIA and/or CISA designation
5+ years working in Internal Controls, preferably within a US listed SOX organizations or working with US SOX clients within a public accounting firm.
Technical Skills
Technical SOX knowledge
Proficiency with Microsoft/google suits
Experience with GRC tech (Workiva)
AI tools including co-pilot an asset.
Other Skills
Ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills including the ability to; provide hands-on support to management in documenting controls, conducting walkthroughs and providing coaching to management.
Ability to work in a team environment with strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
Complete control walkthroughs and design assessments, document controls, review evidence, and perform control testing. Support management with remediation efforts and provide hands-on guidance and coaching on control documentation and walkthroughs.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has at least five years of internal controls experience, preferably with a U.S.-listed SOX organization or U.S. SOX clients at a public accounting firm. A CPA is preferred, with CIA and/or CISA designations also noted; technical SOX knowledge, relevant software proficiency, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills are expected.
