Role: Java Solutions Architect

Rate: CAD85/hr - CAD95/hr
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions. The ideal candidate will partner with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical architectures while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security practices, and long-term technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of business processes, operational workflows, and supporting technology platforms.
- Design scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions that support current and future business needs.
- Collaborate with product owners, delivery teams, and technical stakeholders to define and evolve product roadmaps.
- Provide architectural leadership across the full solution lifecycle, from requirements gathering through implementation and support.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that align with business objectives, performance requirements, and security standards.
- Drive adoption of modern architecture patterns, cloud technologies, and emerging capabilities, including AI-enabled solutions where applicable.
- Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture principles, security best practices, and governance requirements.
- Analyze technical options, trade-offs, risks, and dependencies to support informed decision-making.
- Present architecture designs, recommendations, and technical roadmaps to stakeholders and governance committees.
- Mentor development teams and provide guidance on solution design, integration strategies, and technical best practices.
- Foster strong relationships with business and technology partners to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall IT experience with at least 5+ years in Solution Architecture, Technical Architecture, or a senior technical leadership role.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale distributed systems and cloud-based solutions.
- Strong understanding of system integration, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms.
- Hands-on experience with one or more cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or OpenShift (OCP).
- Strong knowledge of application security, governance, and risk management principles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies and business priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on delivering practical business outcomes.
