Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a passion for transportation, rail systems, and technical leadership? We are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to support rolling stock modernization, maintenance, and engineering projects while providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams.
What You'll Do
Lead electrical engineering projects related to rolling stock and fleet modernization.
Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance centers and stakeholders across the organization.
Review and approve electrical drawings, technical specifications, maintenance procedures, and engineering documentation.
Supervise and coordinate the work of external consultants, contractors, and engineering firms.
Mentor and guide a team of electrical specialists, providing leadership, coaching, and technical oversight.
Support project planning, scope development, design reviews, and implementation activities.
Conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot equipment failures, and develop long-term corrective actions.
Ensure engineering deliverables meet safety, reliability, quality, and operational standards.
Collaborate with the Engineering Manager on resource planning, workload management, and team development initiatives.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Member in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
5–10 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
Experience leading teams within a matrix organization.
Strong experience with electrical system design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability engineering.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Bilingual in English and French.
Nice to Have
Experience in the railway, transportation, manufacturing, or heavy equipment industries.
Experience with rolling stock electrical systems and related regulations.
Experience with root cause analysis, reliability engineering, and maintenance programs.
