Original job description

Your New Company

Our client is a well-established professional services organization in downtown Toronto with a strong legal environment and a commitment to employee development, technology, and operational excellence. They are looking for an experienced Legal Trainer to join their team and play a key role in onboarding, training, and developing employees across the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong litigation background who enjoys coaching others and wants to leverage their legal experience in a training-focused role.

Your New Role

As Legal Trainer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs that support employees in developing their knowledge of legal processes, technology, systems, and internal procedures.

You will lead onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing employees through one-on-one, classroom, group, and virtual training sessions. Working closely with HR and other internal stakeholders, you will identify development needs and create tailored training programs and resources.

You will also develop and maintain training materials, curriculum, and end-user documentation, assess the effectiveness of training programs, and provide additional coaching and support where required. As new technology and applications are introduced, you will play an important role in helping employees navigate system implementations and upgrades.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Previous experience working within a law firm or legal environment
  • Hands-on legal experience, ideally as a Law Clerk, Legal Assistant, or Paralegal
  • Strong knowledge of litigation processes, procedures, and legal workflows
  • Experience working with legal technology, litigation support software, and Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience training, coaching, onboarding, or mentoring employees
  • Ideally, 2+ years of training or client support experience in a professional environment
  • The ability to translate complex legal processes and technology into clear, practical training
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the confidence to train individuals and groups
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities

Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys helping others learn and succeed and can combine strong legal knowledge with an engaging and supportive training style.

What You’ll Get in Return

You will receive a competitive salary of $100,000–$120,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

This is a unique opportunity to move into a dedicated training and development position while continuing to leverage your legal and litigation expertise. You will have the opportunity to make a visible impact on employee development, onboarding, technology adoption, and the overall effectiveness of the legal team.

This position is fully onsite in downtown Toronto.

What You Need to Do Now

If you have a strong legal background, particularly within litigation, and enjoy training, coaching, and helping others develop their skills, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply with your most up-to-date resume for confidential consideration.
