Maintenance Technician

Job Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 1-month with extension

Pay Rate: up to $30/hr (DOE)

Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)

Your New Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring residents enjoy a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment; you will be responsible for responding to maintenance requests, completing repairs, supporting suite turnovers, and maintaining common areas and building systems.

What You Need to Do

Respond to resident maintenance requests and complete repairs in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and cabinetry issues.
Conduct routine inspections of building systems, common areas, and amenities, identifying and addressing deficiencies.
Complete suite turnovers to high-quality standards, including repairs, fixture replacements, coordination of cleaning, and final inspections.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, work orders, and outstanding repairs.
Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to timelines.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
Support compliance with RentSafe requirements, health and safety regulations, and company procedures.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Hands-on experience performing residential or commercial building maintenance and repairs.
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and general renovations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
Availability to work onsite and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
Experience using maintenance management systems, resident communication platforms, or customer databases is considered an asset.
College diploma, apprenticeship training, or a related trades certification would be advantageous.
