Your New Role
Reporting to the Senior Director, IM/IT, the Manager IM/IT is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting a broad range of Information Management and Information Technology services in alignment with organizational priorities, evolving business requirements, and enterprise architecture initiatives.
The successful candidate will provide operational and strategic leadership across IT Operations, Service Management, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, and Vendor Management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Enterprise Architecture Leadership: Provide professional and operational leadership in defining, managing, and evolving enterprise architecture practices and processes.
- Strategic Technology Planning: Provide strategic and tactical advice supporting IM/IT priorities, technology roadmaps, and operational objectives.
- Cybersecurity Program Ownership: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's cybersecurity program.
- IT Operations & Service Delivery: Lead a team of IT professionals supporting end-user computing, service desk operations, cloud services, on-premises infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management: Establish objectives, provide coaching and work direction, support professional development, and conduct performance reviews.
- ITIL Change Management: Oversee Change Management processes to ensure the availability, reliability, and accountability of IM/IT services.
- Service Desk Management: Oversee service desk operations, prioritization activities, maintenance programs, and ongoing service improvement initiatives.
- Vendor & Managed Service Provider Management: Identify opportunities for managed services, support procurement activities, and oversee vendor performance, SLAs, dispute resolution, and service improvements.
- Software Development Governance: Ensure adherence to Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and compliance with intellectual property agreements and regulatory requirements.
- AI Initiatives Support: Provide guidance and oversight for organizational AI-related initiatives.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with executives, business leaders, vendors, consultants, and external partners while serving as a trusted IM/IT advisor.
- Operational Planning & Governance: Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, reporting, and strategic technology initiatives.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience & Technical Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in a managerial role leading IT teams.
- Experience managing Service Desk operations.
- Experience leading and supporting a Cybersecurity Program.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and technology strategy development.
- Experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL, NIST, ISO 27001, ITSG-33, or similar industry-recognized frameworks.
- Experience managing vendors and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
- Experience contributing to operational plans, budgets, and annual reporting activities.
- Knowledge of network architecture, workstation configuration, server administration, and cybersecurity best practices including Zero Trust principles.
- Strong understanding of systems analysis, software development methodologies, and information technology operations.
- Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a highly regulated environment.
Security & Language Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain or hold a Secret Security Clearance.
- Bilingual Imperative (SISS).
- Candidates with existing Government of Canada, Canada School of Public Service (CSPS), Crown Corporation, or equivalent language test results are strongly preferred.
Nice to Have
- CISSP certification.
- CISM certification.
- Experience within Federal Government, Crown Corporations, or other highly regulated environments.
