Original job description

Our client is a well-established and respected commercial general contractor with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects across Calgary and Southern Alberta. With a healthy pipeline of work and a collaborative team environment, they are looking to add a Project Coordinator to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to continue developing their career with a company known for its people, project quality, and long-term stability.

About the Role

Working closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents, you will play a key role in coordinating project documentation, tracking schedules, managing communications, and supporting projects through all phases of construction.

You will be involved in a variety of commercial projects and gain exposure to both office and field operations while helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities

Assist Project Managers with the planning and execution of commercial construction projects
Coordinate and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and project documentation
Maintain project schedules and support progress reporting
Assist with procurement activities, including subcontractor and supplier coordination
Monitor project costs and support budget tracking
Coordinate meetings, record minutes, and follow up on action items
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams
Support project closeout activities and turnover documentation
Ensure project files are organized and maintained throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Project Coordinator within a commercial construction environment
Experience working for a general contractor is required
Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and project documentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
