Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive MRO Buyer to support procurement activities for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materials and services within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, managing purchase orders, maintaining inventory levels, optimizing supplier performance, and ensuring the timely availability of critical materials required to support plant operations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with maintenance, engineering, operations, and warehouse teams while driving cost savings, process improvements, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure MRO materials, spare parts, tools, equipment, consumables, and maintenance services to support plant operations.
- Create, process, and manage purchase orders in accordance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure critical materials are available when required.
- Manage supplier relationships and drive performance improvements related to cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, supplier optimization initiatives, and value-added procurement strategies.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, operations, and warehouse teams to understand purchasing requirements and business needs.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including delayed deliveries, invoicing discrepancies, and material quality concerns.
- Support supplier consolidation efforts and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, contracts, and purchasing documentation.
- Ensure compliance with procurement standards, safety requirements, and applicable company policies and regulations.
Must-Have Skills
- 2-5 years of purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience within manufacturing, industrial, or MRO environments.
- Strong understanding of MRO categories including spare parts, maintenance supplies, tools, consumables, safety products, and maintenance services.
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders using ERP or procurement systems.
- Hands-on experience with SAP and other business applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating procurement activities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management and inventory control practices.
- Experience supporting manufacturing plants, maintenance operations, or industrial facilities.
