Toronto, ON | Full-Time | In-Office

The Opportunity

Our client is an established Canadian construction and project management firm with extensive experience delivering complex projects across the ICI sector. Their portfolio includes large-scale design-build projects, commercial interiors, mission-critical facilities, and technically complex data centre projects.

They are currently looking to add an experienced Senior Estimator to their Toronto team. This is an opportunity for a senior construction professional to take ownership of major estimates and play an integral role throughout the planning, bidding, negotiation and pre-construction stages of projects.

Your New Role

As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and managing detailed construction cost estimates for medium and large-scale ICI projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing bid documents, drawings and specifications to identify project requirements and potential risks.
  • Leading the budget and tender process and developing appropriate bid strategies.
  • Completing detailed quantity take-offs, pricing and preliminary schedules.
  • Preparing budgets, cost proposals, general requirements and value-engineering solutions.
  • Developing estimates based on preliminary project information.
  • Participating in pre-bid meetings and supporting project negotiations and contract execution.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers and other industry professionals.
  • Managing multiple estimates concurrently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

What You'll Need to Succeed

The successful candidate will bring:

  • 10+ years of progressive estimating experience with a general contractor and/or construction manager.
  • Strong experience estimating medium and large ICI projects, including fit-outs, additions and new-build construction.
  • Education related to construction or engineering and/or a relevant estimating designation.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating software.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed estimates from preliminary information.
  • Strong experience with CCDC2 and CCDC5B contract-type tenders.
  • Excellent understanding of construction tendering procedures and industry practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional project teams.

Location

This position is based at our client's Toronto office and is currently structured as an in-office role five days per week.
