We're seeking a Senior Associate, Accounting & Controls to join a growing finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys financial reporting, controls, process improvement, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly accounting close activities, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Prepare and post journal entries in SAP while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of legal entity financial statements and investigate reporting variances.
- Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements.
- Coordinate audit requests, prepare supporting documentation, and liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and document new finance processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
- Maintain strong governance practices and financial controls.
- Support strategic finance projects and business initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or finance functions.
- CPA designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau is considered an asset.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience within Financial Services, Asset Management, or Investment Management is considered an asset.
