With thousands of employees worldwide and a strong presence in Canada, they offer the scale of a global organization while fostering technical excellence, career development, and long-term growth opportunities.

Your New Role

As a Lead Geotechnical Engineer, you will join a growing technical team responsible for the safe operation, management, and long-term performance of a large and complex tailings storage facility. • Analyse monitoring and instrumentation data to assess stability, seepage, deformation, and overall facility performance.
  • Provide technical review and oversight of geotechnical studies, investigations, designs, and rehabilitation projects completed by external consultants.
  • Support dam safety governance programs, risk assessments, emergency preparedness initiatives, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to develop practical engineering solutions and establish technical direction for major projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of internal geotechnical capability within the organization.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, Geotechnical, or related Engineering discipline with a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
  • Significant geotechnical engineering experience within mining, tailings management, dam engineering, or related heavy industry environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of geotechnical analysis, dam stability, instrumentation monitoring, ground improvement methods, and risk management.
  • Experience reviewing or supporting the design, construction, operation, or management of tailings facilities, water retaining structures, or large earthworks projects.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and governance frameworks relating to tailings and dam safety, including MAC TSM and Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across operations, projects, consultants, and regulatory stakeholders.

What You'll Get In Return

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus annual incentive opportunities.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, disability, and wellness benefits.
  • Defined contribution pension program and additional retirement savings support.
  • Relocation assistance for qualified candidates moving to the Sudbury area.
  • Opportunity to work on one of Canada's most significant and complex tailings management operations.
  • Strong culture focused on safety, inclusion, technical excellence, career progression, and professional development.
