You will lead technical reviews, assess geotechnical and instrumentation data, oversee consultant work, support dam safety programs, and provide engineering guidance on rehabilitation and risk mitigation projects. Working closely with operations, project teams, regulators, and external consultants, you will play an important role in the future development of Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer (RTFE) and Engineer of Record (EOR) capability within the organization.

P.Eng. designation and eligibility to practice in Ontario.
15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
Strong experience within mining, tailings management, dam engineering, or large earthworks projects.
Hands-on experience with tailings facilities through design, construction, operations, management, or rehabilitation.
Strong understanding of dam safety reviews, slope stability assessments, geotechnical investigations, and risk evaluations.
Experience reviewing consultant reports, technical studies, designs, and engineering recommendations.
Knowledge of instrumentation monitoring programs and geotechnical performance analysis.
Familiarity with GISTM, MAC TSM, dam safety regulations, and tailings governance frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A collaborative, proactive, and ownership-oriented approach to engineering.
Willingness to work onsite in Sudbury, Ontario.

What you'll get in return

Competitive salary starting around $140,000+, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
Annual performance bonus.
Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness benefits.
Company pension plan.
Relocation assistance available.
Monday to Friday schedule with standard office hours.
Opportunity to work on one of Canada's largest and most complex tailings management portfolios.
Exposure to high-profile dam safety, tailings governance, and rehabilitation projects.
Career progression toward RTFE, Engineer of Record (EOR), Senior Specialist, and technical leadership opportunities.
Long-term stability and growth with a globally recognized mining organization.
