Your New Role
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Procurement, the Senior Analyst, Procurement (Heavy Mobile Mining Equipment) will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for heavy mobile mining equipment, associated parts, maintenance programs, and related services across global mining operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing and category management plans for Heavy Mobile Mining Equipment (HME).
- Lead procurement activities for haul trucks, articulated trucks, excavators, loaders, drill rigs, infrastructure equipment, and associated parts and services.
- Conduct supplier and market analysis to identify opportunities for cost optimization, innovation, supply security, and risk mitigation.
- Lead commercial negotiations and supplier discussions to secure favorable pricing, terms, and long-term agreements.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships that align with business objectives.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including commercial administration, governance, and supplier performance management.
- Analyze Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and equipment lifecycle costs to support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and Supply Chain stakeholders across multiple regions.
- Drive value creation initiatives across high-value procurement categories.
- Support sustainability, responsible sourcing, and supplier performance programs.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while ensuring continuity of critical equipment, parts, and services.
- Collaborate with regional and global procurement teams to leverage best practices and category synergies.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Category Management.
- Experience managing Heavy Mobile Mining Equipment, industrial capital equipment, OTR tires, mining services, or related categories.
- Proven success leading complex sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.
- Experience developing and implementing category strategies within global or multi-site environments.
- Strong contract management and supplier relationship management experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles and lifecycle costing.
- Knowledge of logistics, freight, duties, taxation, and equipment acquisition processes.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across multiple business functions and geographic regions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Professional procurement designation (SCMP, CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent) is considered an asset.
- Advanced English communication skills required. Portuguese and/or French language skills are considered an asset.
