Your New Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key role within a growing structural group, leading projects from proposal through completion while providing technical oversight, mentorship and client leadership.
The successful candidate will combine strong structural design capability with project management, team leadership and business development responsibilities. You will work across a diverse mix of projects including structural rehabilitation, restoration, building assessments, renovations, existing-building upgrades and new construction assignments.
This role is well suited to an engineer looking to move beyond pure design into technical leadership while remaining involved in meaningful engineering work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural projects from investigation and proposal through construction completion.
- Design and analyze steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.
- Conduct structural assessments and evaluations of existing buildings and infrastructure.
- Prepare and review engineering reports, calculations, specifications and drawings.
- Provide structural rehabilitation, restoration and retrofit solutions.
- Oversee construction administration activities including field reviews, RFIs, change orders and site inspections.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, EITs and technical staff.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of drawings, reports and technical deliverables.
- Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, architects and multidisciplinary consulting teams.
- Assist with fee proposals, budgeting, project planning and business development activities.
- Support the continued growth of the structural team and service offering.
What You'll Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus.
- P.Eng. designation in good standing.
- 8+ years of structural consulting experience.
- Experience leading structural engineering projects and client relationships.
- Strong background in both existing-building assessments and structural design.
- Experience with rehabilitation, restoration, retrofits and building upgrades.
- Construction administration and field review experience.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and project management capability.
