Original job description

Our client is seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator to support, maintain, and enhance their Microsoft cloud environment. This role will be responsible for identity and access management, endpoint administration, Microsoft 365 services, security, automation, and operational support.

The successful candidate will work across the Microsoft ecosystem, supporting users, devices, security controls, and cloud services while helping ensure a secure, stable, and well-managed environment.

Responsibilities

Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID.
Manage user onboarding, offboarding, licensing, permissions, and access management.
Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID including Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, RBAC, identity governance, and user lifecycle management.
Manage Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, endpoint compliance, application deployments, configuration profiles, and endpoint security policies.
Support Windows 11 devices and modern endpoint management initiatives.
Maintain and monitor Microsoft Defender technologies, investigate alerts, and support security best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to identity, licensing, email, Teams, devices, endpoint management, and Microsoft 365 services.
Develop and maintain PowerShell automation to improve administration and operational efficiency.
Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and security teams to support business operations and ongoing improvements.

Required Experience

3+ years of Systems Administration experience.
Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID and identity management.
Experience supporting Exchange Online.
Experience managing Microsoft Intune and Windows endpoints.
Experience with Microsoft Defender security technologies.
Experience with user provisioning, access management, licensing, and endpoint administration.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience using PowerShell for administration and automation.

Preferred Experience

Microsoft Teams administration.
SharePoint Online administration.
OneDrive for Business administration.
Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, information protection).
Azure administration, including Azure Virtual Machines, RBAC, networking fundamentals, and Azure Backup.
Microsoft Sentinel.
Microsoft Graph API and advanced PowerShell automation.
Microsoft 365 migration projects including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and tenant-to-tenant migrations.
