About us

Haywood Concrete Products Ltd. (HCP) manufactures precast concrete. Together with our affiliated companies and branches, we operate offices and manufacturing facilities in Haywood, Winnipeg, and Calgary. We are a growing, hands-on company with a strong team and a reputation for quality. As we grow, we're looking for a finance leader who wants to build things properly and be part of the next chapter.

As our Controller, you'll own the day-to-day accounting function and be the go-to person for financial reporting, cash management, and cost visibility across the business. You'll work directly with ownership and operations, and you'll play a key role in upgrading our accounting system. Year-end and tax filings are supported by our external accountants, so your focus is running the business day to day.

What you'll do

 Run month-end close and prepare accurate, timely financial statements

 Manage AP, AR, payroll, and GST/PST remittances

 Build budgets, cash flow forecasts, and job and product costing

 Track inventory and production costs, and report on margins

 Support year-end and tax work with our external accountants

 Help select and implement our next accounting system (we currently use Sage 50, with an upgrade planned)

 Strengthen processes and internal controls across all three offices

 Provide clear financial insight to ownership and operations leaders

What you bring

 CPA designation

 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, construction, or distribution

 Working knowledge of Sage 50 or similar accounting systems

 Strong grasp of inventory and cost accounting

 Comfort working across multiple locations

 Clear communication with owners and non-finance colleagues

 A practical, problem-solving mindset

Nice to have

 Experience with an accounting system or ERP migration

 Background in precast, concrete, or industrial manufacturing

What we offer

 Salary: $95,000 to $125,000+, based on experience
