We are interdisciplinary by intention. Designers, architects, researchers, strategists and others, all working together to create the lasting change we want to see in our communities.

And that’s where (we hope!) you come in.

About the Role

We are looking for a Studio Coordinator who greets the challenges of the day with a smile on their face; a swift multi-tasker with the willingness and attitude to conquer any task to keep the firms’ internal operations running smoothly across our four offices - Vancouver, Victoria and Edmonton and Calgary.

This is a part-time, 0.8 FTE position based in our Victoria office.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the welcoming face of our Victoria studio, greeting and directing guests, accepting deliveries, and handling incoming calls and mail.
  • Provide administrative support, including calendar management, travel bookings, and firm-wide office communications.
  • Keep the studio organized and running smoothly, including maintaining office resources and supplies and coordinating with building management on maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate logistics and set-up for in-house meetings and other studio activities.
  • Assist with planning and organization of company and staff events
  • Provide first-line digital and technical support across our offices, troubleshooting issues and coordinating with our IT provider as needed.
  • Assist with AV set-up and maintain inventory of technical equipment.
  • Look for opportunities to improve day-to-day studio operations and make things easier for the team.

What You’ll Bring

  • 1–3 years of experience providing administrative or operational support within a creative, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Confidence exercising good judgement, solving problems, and taking initiative.
  • Strong technical proficiency and comfort learning and troubleshooting different tools, programs, and office technology.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with people across teams and offices.
  • A positive, proactive, and flexible approach, with a willingness to jump in where needed.
  • A professional and approachable demeanor, with the ability to represent hcma with warmth, reliability, and care.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $53,000 - $65,000 annually (0.8 FTE)

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:

  • Extended health and dental coverage
  • Transportation allowance
  • Professional development support
  • Paid vacation + firm holidays
  • A creative, collaborative and lively studio environment and culture
  • Office and firm-wide social events
