HD Engineering & Design (HD) is an engineering, design, and project management firm locally owned and based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Our mission is to support our client’s capital-project requirements, continuous improvement, and maintenance initiatives by providing high quality and practical services that offer a fit-for-purpose solution. HD is continuously growing to support the demands of the mining and industrial sectors. Our services include full-discipline engineering and design, discrete element modelling, finite element analysis, studies and capital planning, scheduling and cost control, and project management.

Qualifications:

Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical and/or Design and Manufacturing Engineering Technology (DMET)
11+ years of experience
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and project planning skills
People oriented with an ability to establish relationships, credibility, and trust

Other Valuable Experience:

P.Tech or C.Tech designation
Inventor, AutoCAD 2D and 3D
Project management
Bulk materials handling
Safety certifications and training
Industrial and on-site experience
Mobile equipment, heavy industrial equipment, or mining equipment
Fabrication experience and machine design

As a Senior Mechanical Designer your responsibilities will include:

Mechanical drafting, 3D modeling, simulation and analysis
As-built drawings
Drafting reviews and checking documents
Creating other documentation as per project requirements
Field checking and verification at various shops or client facilities
Equipment, fabrication inspection, and commissioning
Develop improvements in design standards
Establishing client relationships and delivery of projects
Project coordination duties such as tracking and reporting
Contributing to project reports, in collaboration with project team members
Mentoring Junior and Intermediate Designers
Holding team members accountable for their actions and individual responsibilities
Maintaining project schedules and budgets, staying aware of project progress
Work at client mine sites and other client facilities
Other tasks as required to meet our clients and operational requirements

Working Conditions

40 hours per week, or 80 hours over two-week payroll period
