Permanent and Locum opportunities are available.
In this community you can practice GP Anesthesia 1-5 days a week, with 1:4 or 1:5 nights of call/weekends depending on the department size. We work in a stimulating environment ensuring we maintain our skills. We support General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dental procedures and visiting Orthopedic Surgeons, primarily focusing on knee and hip replacements. The community also has permanent and visiting orthopedic surgeons, visiting plastic surgeons and visiting ENT surgeons.
Experience would be an asset but we have the capacity to mentor new graduates. The successful applicants can expect to have a highly collaborative and interactive medical setting as well as the opportunity to educate medical students and family practice residence. There is an opportunity to have a part time Family Practice office, an ER practice, join our local long-term Care Group or GP oncology group
If you have an interest in a limited scope Interventional Chronic Pain service, dependent on training, it can be accommodated.

Service providers are remunerated through a highly competitive Alternative Payment Plan and MOCAP contract.”
The Cariboo Memorial Hospital Surgical services a catchment area of about 50,000 and our 24/7 Emergency sees ~22,000 ER visits/year.

Benefits and Incentives
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 12.32% Retention Flat Fee $19,092 Relocation Funding Available $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location Recruitment Incentive $15,000 Other Benefits/Incentives Rural CME: max of $4,840.00 /year after 4 years in practice Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer. Candidates with a BC or Canada student loan may be eligible for loan forgiveness programs.

Responsibilities
Provide general practice anesthesia services supporting general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, dental procedures, and orthopedic surgery. Participate in call coverage and may contribute to family practice, emergency care, long-term care, oncology, chronic pain services, and medical student education.
Requirements
Applicants must be qualified to provide general practice anesthesia; prior experience is an asset, but new graduates may be mentored. Training is required for participation in the limited-scope interventional chronic pain service.
