Role and Facility Information

An exceptional opportunity has opened for two family physicians to join a friendly, newly renovated, private clinic in beautiful Parksville, BC. Join two welcoming physicians in an expanding practice. The clinic offers a collegial atmosphere perfect for peer support, consultation, and locum coverage. While this is a private clinic, staffing and HR are managed through Island Health, removing the administrative burden of personnel management. The clinic is fully integrated with the Mylé EMR. This clinic benefits from participation in the Oceanside Primary Care Network, providing you with direct, in-practice access to a Registered Nurse (RN), Social Worker, and a Clinical Pharmacist.

Being located inside the OHC means you and your patients have easy access to a comprehensive suite of Island Health services such as Urgent Care, Medical Imaging, LifeLabs, Home & Community Care and Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Services.

Additional Information

Start Date: ASAP

Status: Two positions available. Full-Time or Part-Time

Hours of Work: Flexible, Monday-Friday

Overhead: TBD

Benefits

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidy agreement including:

Fee Premium - 4.62%
Annual Flat Fee - $7,159.68
Recruitment Incentive - $10,000 (pro-rated for FTE amount)
Relocation Costs - up to a maximum of $15,000 (Depending on location moving from)
CME - $2,200/annum year 3-4 and $4,400/annum after 4 years in the community

Community Information

Parksville is located on the unceded and traditional territories of the Snuneymuxw, Snaw-naw-as, and Stzuminus People. This city has one of the most temperature climates in all of Canada, with sandy beaches and activities galore for everyone from young families to retirement to enjoy. The community has a slower pace of life, where people take time to enjoy the beauty of the area and the endless outdoor activities. Spend a day at Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, stop by the Coombs market for international foods and goods, or head out for a hike to see some of the beautiful waterfalls throughout the region. All the urban city amenities are only a 30-minute drive away in Nanaimo and regularly scheduled ferry, air and float plane services offer easy access to Vancouver.
