Original job description

Role and Facility Information

Flanked by tree trimmed mountain slopes, dramatic clay cliffs and Okanagan and Skaha Lake, Penticton is one of the larger cities in the BC interior. Its lush surroundings and ideal climate, with over 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, combine to create a paradise. Indulge in, wineries, golf courses, and famous sandy beaches in the summer and skiing and snowshoeing when the snow falls. Penticton is an innovative and adventurous waterfront city offering all the amenities of a larger urban centre while preserving its small-town charm and warmth. With an array of fine dining, shops, recreational facilities and local vendors and agriculturalists at its weekly farmer’s market, Penticton has it all. Come experience this incredible lifestyle for yourself!

The Penticton UPCC consists of family physicians (FPs), nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurse team lead, primary care registered nurses (RNs), social workers (SWs), medical office assistants (MOAs), and a dedicated operational manager.

The Penticton UPCC focuses on members of the general population with non-life threatening illnesses or injuries who need access to same-day care, including those who are unattached, both those that are on the Patient Attachment List (PAL) actively awaiting attachment in the South Okanagan and those not yet on the PAL.

Urgent primary care services will be available to the public: Monday to Friday - 8:00 to 16:00, weekday evenings 17:00 to 20:00, Saturday, Sunday and statutory holidays – 12:00 to 18:00

Imagine a career that bends to the rhythm of your life, where the balance between professional fulfillment and personal wellbeing isn't just a dream, but your daily reality.

At our UPCC, you are invited to redefine what it means to be a dedicated physician. Our flexible model allows you to tailor your hours to complement your existing practice or personal commitments. One of the key goals at the Penticton UPCC is to meet people where they are at. We have the right team based care culture at the right place!

Step into a collaborative team where your expertise as a Family Practitioner is not just needed but celebrated. Together, you ensure that urgent care flows smoothly and effectively, meeting the pressing needs of the community with precision and empathy.

Our UPCCs are not just a place of work; they are dynamic and supportive environments where professional growth is as much a priority as patient care.

If you're ready to infuse your medical practice with newfound flexibility and join a team where your clinical acumen will make a tangible difference, we invite you to consider this unique opportunity.

For those interested, Leadership Development Opportunities are available with Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program.

Apply today to live work and play where others only vacation! It's better here!
