Original job description

Role and Facility Information

Glistening water below lush mountains, dotted with parks frame the Okanagan's largest and liveliest population centre; Kelowna. Okanagan Lake is the perfect place to sail, kayak, or relax on the beach. Rolling greens offer world class golfing, minutes away from spectacular hiking and biking trails. In the winter enjoy ski resorts and skating rinks right at your fingertips. Decorated with heritage buildings and modern architecture, Kelowna offers something for everyone with orchards, vineyards and all the amenities of a major centre. From restaurants, and shops, to art galleries, live music and theatre, this city has it all. Come and experience our four seasons playground and see why life is better here.

The Rutland UPCC consists of family practitioners (FPs), nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurse team lead, primary care registered nurses (RNs), social workers (SWs), medical office assistants (MOAs), and a dedicated operational manager.

The UPCC focuses on members of the general population with non-life threatening illnesses or injuries who need access to same-day care, including those who are unattached, both those that are on the Patient Attachment List (PAL) actively awaiting attachment in the Central Okanagan and those not yet on the PAL.

Urgent care services will be available to the public: Monday to Sunday and statutory holidays – 09:00 to 21:00.

Imagine a career that bends to the rhythm of your life, where the balance between professional fulfillment and personal wellbeing isn't just a dream, but your daily reality. This is the promise that awaits you as a Family Practitioner at the Rutland Urgent Primary Care Centre (UPCC).

At our UPCC, you are invited to redefine what it means to be a dedicated physician. Our flexible model allows you to tailor your hours to complement your existing practice or personal commitments.

Step into a collaborative team where your expertise as a Family Practitioner is not just needed but celebrated. Together, you ensure that urgent care flows smoothly and effectively, meeting the pressing needs of the community with precision and empathy.

Our UPCCs are not just a place of work; they are dynamic and supportive environments where professional growth is as much a priority as patient care.

If you're ready to infuse your medical practice with newfound flexibility and join a team where your clinical acumen will make a tangible difference, we invite you to consider this unique opportunity. A UPCC is not just another clinic; it's a place where your professional journey can flourish alongside your personal desires for a balanced life.

For those interested, Leadership Development Opportunities are available with Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program. The NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program is a comprehensive leadership development program designed specifically for physicians to address the practical leadership knowledge, behaviours and skills that high potential, emerging medical leaders require to step into leadership roles early in their careers.

Apply today to live work and play where others only vacation! It's better here!
