Original job description

Role and Facility Information

Penticton

Flanked by tree trimmed mountain slopes, dramatic clay cliffs and Okanagan and Skaha Lake, Penticton is one of the larger cities in the BC interior. Its lush surroundings and ideal climate, with over 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, combine to create a paradise. Indulge in, wineries, golf courses, and famous sandy beaches in the summer and skiing and snowshoeing when the snow falls. Penticton is an innovative and adventurous waterfront city offering all the amenities of a larger urban centre while preserving its small-town charm and warmth. With an array of fine dining, shops, recreational facilities and local vendors and agriculturalists at its weekly farmer’s market, Penticton has it all. Come experience this incredible lifestyle for yourself!

Penticton Regional Hospital

Serving 90,000 residents across the South Okanagan and Similkameen Valley, Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) functions as a regional facility and secondary referral centre. Our 172 acute beds provide emergency, trauma, specialty, surgical, and outpatient care, plus diagnostic and paramedical services, tailored to community needs.

At PRH, we prioritize innovation, providing on-site CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine technology. Our 10-bed ICU delivers vital care for the most critically ill patients. As the referral base for hematology and transfusion medicine for smaller local hospitals in Oliver and Princeton, we offer centralized services across the Okanagan Valley.

Recent expansions demonstrate our commitment to advancing care at PRH. We unveiled the David E. Kampe Tower (DKT), introducing state-of-the-art surgical facilities, 84 private inpatient suites, a new medical device reprocessing unit, and space for the UBC Faculty of Medicine Program. We also upgraded our emergency department by adding new trauma bays, treatment spaces, and consultation rooms.

At PRH, we remain dedicated to recruiting talented medical professionals and elevating health outcomes across our growing region of British Columbia. Our exceptional facilities and compassionate care make us leaders and innovators among community hospitals.
