Role and Facility Information

Join Our Collaborative Team at this Medical Clinic

This Medical Clinic is seeking a family physician to join our welcoming and highly collaborative team. Our clinic provides a full spectrum of family medicine services in a well-equipped, modern environment designed for efficiency and patient-centered care.

Why us?

  • Supportive Team Environment: Work alongside five experienced physicians with diverse interests in palliative care, chemotherapy, MAID, addictions medicine, and community outreach. We foster a culture of mutual support and shared knowledge, ensuring an excellent working environment for all physicians.
  • ROS – IMG Mentorship & Integration: As a recognized site that has successfully hosted Return of Service – IMG applicants for several years, we have extensive experience in supporting internationally trained physicians transitioning into Canadian practice. Our team has a long-standing history of mentorship and integration for ROS applicants - exemplified by the success of our clinic owner who joined us as an IMG completing her ROS in 2015.
  • Teaching & Training: In addition to supporting ROS – IMG candidates, we are a UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residency Program teaching site, working with R1 and R2 residents to foster the next generation of family physicians.
  • Flexible Model: Physicians enjoy autonomy in setting their schedules, with optional participation in weekend call and inpatient rounds.
  • Modern Facility: Our clinic operates on the MYLE EMR system, optimizing workflow and efficiency. Our shared, open-concept workspace with an ocean view creates a welcoming and comfortable work environment.

Additional Practice Opportunities & Details

  • Hospital Privileges: Optional. Physicians may apply for privileges at the local hospital if desired.
  • Emergency Medicine (EM) Coverage: Not required as part of clinic duties. However, those interested in EM work can explore local opportunities.
  • Long-Term Care: Optional. Dr. Farias currently provides long-term care services, and additional physician involvement is welcome.
  • Walk-In Services: We are not a walk-in clinic, but we offer same-day appointments for registered patients.
  • Maternity Care: Optional. Physicians interested in incorporating maternity care into their practice are encouraged to do so.

Remuneration & Overhead Costs

Payment Models: We support physicians working under Fee-for-Service (FFS), the Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) payment model, or the New to Practice Contract (NTP), allowing flexibility in how you structure your practice.

Overhead Costs: $8,000 per month, which includes:

  • Billing support to assist with claims and revenue management.
  • MOA (Medical Office Assistant) support for administrative and patient care tasks.
  • Facility costs, including rent and utilities.
  • Access to the MYLE EMR system for efficient workflow.
  • Flexible scheduling based on physician preference.

If you are an IMG candidate with a Return of Service requirement looking for a dynamic and supportive clinic that offers a proven mentorship structure, flexibility, and opportunities for professional growth, this Medical Clinic could be the perfect fit for you.
