Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Education

Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute

Licenses

Valid Class 4 driver's license

Other Education and Training

Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
Current CPR certification
International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)

Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.

Responsibilities

The Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency and non-emergency events to provide assessment, treatment, and transportation for ill or injured persons. They must perform these duties in accordance with provincial legislation, clinical practice protocols, and health authority standards.

Requirements
