helloDarwin is a tech-enabled advisory firm that helps Canadian businesses find and obtain grants, tax credits and other government funding. Based in Montreal, our team of 60 has supported hundreds of organizations since 2017. About twenty consultants work exclusively on

non-dilutive funding for our 300+ active clients.

The Role

We're looking for an Executive Advisor to take ownership of a large client portfolio and the team that serves it, made up of account managers and analysts. This is a strategic advisory role with business owners and executives, with a strong business development component: growing the value of each client relationship over time, opening new mandates and representing helloDarwin with decision-makers.

You'll also be accountable for the financial performance of your portfolio. That means tracking mandate profitability, making sure the team's workload is well balanced and making the calls that protect margins without compromising service quality.

Our clients are manufacturing, food & beverage, energy and innovation-driven companies generating $10M to $50M+ in annual revenue across Canada. This position suits an experienced professional from an advisory background (accounting firm, professional services firm, strategy consulting) who is as comfortable in a boardroom as at a client dinner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as a strategic advisor to the executives in your portfolio and build lasting relationships at the highest level
Grow portfolio revenue by identifying new needs, proposing additional mandates and securing renewals
Lead the account managers and analysts on your team, allocate work and support the quality of deliverables
Own portfolio profitability: margin tracking, mandate efficiency, trade-offs between effort and value
Build your network and represent helloDarwin at events, business dinners and networking activities
Report on portfolio performance to leadership and contribute to decisions on our service offering

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

8+ years of experience in advisory services, strategic account management or B2B business development
Background in consulting: accounting firm, professional services firm or strategy consulting
Proven track record growing a client portfolio and hitting revenue targets
Experience managing a team or supervising professionals
Comfortable managing the profitability of a portfolio or business unit (margins, resources, priorities)
Established business network and credibility with senior business leaders
Bilingual French and English (required)

Assets: knowledge of Canadian government programs (SR&ED, provincial and federal programs), professional designation (CPA, MBA or equivalent).

La personne en poste est aussi responsable de la performance financière de son portefeuille. Elle suit la rentabilité des mandats, s'assure que le travail de l'équipe est bien réparti et prend les décisions qui protègent les marges sans sacrifier la qualité du service.

Nos clients sont des entreprises manufacturières, agroalimentaires, énergétiques et innovantes générant entre 10M$ et 50M$+ de revenus annuels à travers le Canada. Le poste convient à une personne d'expérience issue du conseil (cabinet comptable, firme de services professionnels, consultation stratégique), qui est à l'aise autant dans une salle de conseil d'administration que dans un repas d'affaires.

RESPONSABILITÉS

Agir comme conseiller·ère stratégique auprès des dirigeants de son portefeuille et bâtir des relations durables au plus haut niveau
Faire croître les revenus du portefeuille en repérant de nouveaux besoins, en proposant des mandats additionnels et en assurant les renouvellements
Encadrer les gestionnaires de comptes et les analystes de son équipe, répartir le travail et soutenir la qualité des livrables
Assurer la rentabilité du portefeuille : suivi des marges, efficacité des mandats, arbitrages entre effort et valeur
Mener les rencontres clés avec les clients (présentations de plans de financement, revues stratégiques, négociations)
Développer son réseau et représenter helloDarwin lors d'événements, repas d'affaires et activités de réseautage
Rendre compte de la performance du portefeuille à la direction et contribuer aux décisions sur l'offre de services

PROFIL RECHERCHÉ

8 ans et plus d'expérience en service-conseil, en gestion de comptes stratégiques ou en développement des affaires B2B
Parcours en conseil : cabinet comptable, firme de services professionnels ou consultation stratégique
Expérience démontrée dans la croissance d'un portefeuille de clients et l'atteinte d'objectifs de revenus
Expérience en gestion d'équipe ou en supervision de professionnels
Aisance à gérer la rentabilité d'un portefeuille ou d'une unité d'affaires (marges, ressources, priorités)
Réseau d'affaires établi et crédibilité auprès de dirigeants d'entreprise
Bilingue français et anglais (obligatoire)
