Original job description

Location: Hybrid (2 days HQ, 1 day Site, 2 days WFH)
• HQ: 110 Spadina Ave, Toronto
• Site: 3520 Laird Road, Mississauga

Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (may vary based on business needs)

S'more about the team

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Manager (Ops Tech), Special Operations, to join Factor (factormeals.ca), a healthy, ready-to-heat meal delivery service under HelloFresh. This role owns the operations technology roadmap for Factor Canada, bridging the gap between operations, data engineering, and global platform teams. You will lead the design, integration, and deployment of systems that power our production, warehousing, procurement, and quality functions across multiple sites. Reporting to the General Manager, you will operate as the connective tissue between floor-level operations and the technical teams that build and maintain our systems.

Lettuce share what this role will be responsible for:

Platform Migrations & Go-Live Management

Lead end-to-end platform migrations (e.g. legacy systems to modern platforms), including dual-maintenance strategies, deprecation timelines, cutover risk assessments, and go-live communications.
Manage phased rollouts across functional areas of production, coordinating with global development teams for requirements reviews and sprint prioritization.

Systems Architecture & Data Source Design

Own the data architecture strategy for operational tools - mapping data flows across SKU master data management, recipe management, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and production tracking systems. Evaluate integration approaches and design future-state architectures that don't disrupt downstream tools during transitions.
Compile and maintain data source requirements documentation, including source-to-target mapping and ingestion cadences.

Operational Tool Development & Ownership

Own the lifecycle of production floor tools - from requirements gathering and process flow mapping through development coordination, training material creation, and deployment.

Cross-Functional Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination

Serve as the primary liaison between local operations and global platform teams - translating operational needs into technical requirements and managing prioritization across competing roadmaps.
Lead data inconsistency investigations - root-causing discrepancies between reporting systems, reviewing automation logic, and coordinating fixes with data engineering.

Multi-Site Operations & New Site Launches

Ensure systems parity across production facilities - replicating all systems, tools, and documentation, and validating readiness before go-live.

Roadmap Management

Define and maintain the ops tech roadmap aligned to business Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), sequencing projects based on dependencies and critical path. Run regular steering calls to communicate status and manage risk.
Manage and develop direct reports, delegate effectively, and participate in team hiring.
Other duties assigned

Sound a-peeling? Here's what we're looking for:

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain, computer science, or a similar field
3–5 years of experience in operations technology, systems integration, tech consulting, or manufacturing/supply chain operations
Demonstrated experience writing functional/technical specifications and leading them through development teams
Track record of leading platform migrations or system go-lives in production environments with low tolerance for downtime
Strong data literacy - comfortable mapping data flows across systems, reviewing data source structures, and identifying integration patterns (you don't need to write code, but you need to understand schemas and pipelines)
Excellent stakeholder management - able to translate between floor supervisors and software engineers, and escalate effectively when blocked
Entrepreneurial with an ownership mindset: you thrive in small teams where ambiguity is the norm
Strong written communication - your project updates, go-live comms, and stakeholder messages are clear, structured, and drive action
Quantitative and analytical: expertise with spreadsheet tools, data visualization, and comfort reviewing data pipelines and dashboards

Nice to have

Experience with Warehouse Management Systems including rollout and floor training
Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery) and orchestration tools (Airflow)
Experience with food manufacturing traceability systems (CCP, FIFO, lot tracking)
Background in food manufacturing, meal kit, or CPG operations
Experience with agile sprint planning and working with distributed development teams

Let’s cut to the cheese, this is why you'll love it here:

Box Discount - Amazing discounts on 1 box per week! 75% discount on weekly HelloFresh and Chefs Plate meal kits AND 50% off weekly Factor meal box.
Health & Wellness - Health & Dental benefits from day 1, a Health Spending Account, unlimited access to the Headspace app to meet your self-care needs, and 25% discount on GoodLife fitness memberships!
RRSP Matching - Competitive RRSP matching program offered
Vacation & PTO - Time off is also an important part of self-care! We offer generous vacation and PTO to help you create a good work-life balance.
Family Benefits - A parental leave top-up program for expectant parents.
Growth & Development - We support your career progression, provide development opportunities, and invest in your continued learning through our organization wide L&D fund.
Work Hard & Have Fun - From team socials to engaging company days, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to experience the fun!
Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives - With impactful ERG’s like FreshPride, Women Empowered and LIMES, we are committed to our diversity, equity & inclusion efforts.
Food Puns - this one is kind of a big dill if you haven’t already noticed. We even have some punny meeting room names!

Working Conditions:

It’s no surprise that as a food company, we use many ingredients that may be considered common allergens (i.e. peanuts, tree nuts, milk, etc.). Whether this role is based out of our headquarters or one of our distribution centers, it is possible that you may be exposed to such allergens in this role. If you have any concerns with being exposed to any particular food ingredients, including meat, please disclose this during the hiring process.

If this sounds like you, please click the "Apply Now" button. If this role doesn't quite match what you're looking for, but you'd like to know more about joining the HelloFresh team, please visit our Jobs page to view our other vacancies. We'd love to hear from you!

HelloFresh Canada uses AI-integrated technology to help us process and evaluate applications more efficiently. This includes tools that screen and assess candidate qualifications based on the requirements for this role. While these tools assist our workflow, all final selection decisions are made by our hiring team.

This is a posting for an existing vacancy. We are actively seeking to fill this position.
