Original job description

Company Description Helpero is a Toronto-based home and commercial services platform designed to make booking trusted local specialists faster, easier, and more transparent. Through the Helpero app, customers can quickly schedule services such as cleaning, mounting, furniture assembly, plumbing, and other home support needs with verified professionals and secure payments. The platform focuses on convenience, clear service options, and a smooth experience from booking to completion for homeowners, renters, families, and busy professionals. Helpero also offers skilled service providers a modern digital channel to receive jobs, grow their customer base, and operate more professionally. Starting in Toronto, Helpero’s vision is to become one of Canada’s most trusted platforms for everyday home services by combining technology, trust, and community-based service delivery.

Role Description The Co-Founder Operations Manager is a full-time hybrid role responsible for building and overseeing the day-to-day operational backbone of Helpero. This role includes designing and refining workflows for customer bookings, service fulfillment, and specialist onboarding to ensure reliability and efficiency. The individual will manage operational metrics, troubleshoot issues across the platform, and collaborate closely with product, marketing, and support to improve processes and user experience. They will help shape and implement policies, quality standards, and performance benchmarks for service providers, as well as coordinate with external partners where needed. As a co-founder, this person will contribute to strategic planning, fundraising preparation, and long-term growth initiatives while maintaining a hands-on approach to daily operations.

Qualifications

Strong analytical skills to interpret data, optimize processes, and support decision-making.
Excellent communication abilities for working with co-founders, service providers, customers, and partners.
Sales-related skills to support partnership development, provider recruitment, and customer acquisition efforts.
Marketing experience to collaborate on go-to-market activities and help position Helpero within the local services ecosystem.
Research skills to assess market trends, customer needs, and operational best practices.
Experience in operations management, marketplace platforms, or service-based businesses is highly beneficial.
Comfort working in a startup environment with changing priorities and a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting as well, with strong organizational and time management skills.
