The Hemlo Mine (“Hemlo”) is a long-life, fully integrated gold mining operation located approximately 35 km east of the town of Marathon in Northwestern Ontario, Canada, along the Trans Canada Highway and just north of Lake Superior. With more than a decade of reserves and significant exploration upside along the proven Hemlo greenstone belt, Hemlo Mining Corp. is positioned to unlock the next chapter of growth at one of Canada’s premier gold districts. The site continues to evolve through ongoing investment in exploration and modernization, creating new opportunities across technical and skilled roles. Your new role

Maintaining U/G control for underground mine (including alimak raises and lateral development), through laser installs and check surveys where required
Operate underground drone for purpose of completing Lidar scans
Prepare layouts for U/G mark-ups as required
Download and transfer 2d and 3d information from all instruments (CMS's, topes, etc) and cut 2d plan sections Master Level Plans
Be able to operate and download info from the CALS instrument and cut 2d plan section for Master Level Plans
Track round count for month end and compare with Mine Clerk and Development Planner for accuracy
Complete Survey Month End Report
Attend & contribute to weekly production meetings
Provide regular feedback regarding production targets, production performance and safety as requested
Compliance with Hemlo Standards
Account for all actions with the Hemlo Core values being applied
Verify that all information is entered accurately and timely
Adjust daily priorities as required for operational efficiencies
File all documents and maintain the existing document filing system

What you'll need to succeed

College Technical certificate or related experience
Experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as onsite training will be provided
Excellent data entry skills
Proficient in MS office
Proficient in Oracle system
Attention to detail
High level multi-tasking and organization
Good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Maintain underground survey control through laser installations and check surveys, operate drones for LiDAR scans, prepare layouts, and manage survey data and plans. Track development rounds, complete month-end reporting, contribute to production meetings, provide performance feedback, and maintain accurate records in compliance with company standards.

Requirements

A college technical certificate or related experience is required, although relevant experience is beneficial rather than essential because on-site training is available. Candidates should have strong data-entry, Microsoft Office, and Oracle skills, along with attention to detail, multitasking and organizational ability, interpersonal and communication skills, and leadership qualities.
