Original job description

Hidden Z Creative is looking for an experienced, hands-on Multimedia Producer with strong professional photography and video production skills. This role is for someone who enjoys being behind the camera as much as developing the ideas behind the work, and who can independently manage productions from planning through post-production and delivery.

We're a collaborative creative agency working at the intersection of strategy, marketing and creative production. From branding and advertising campaigns to photography, video and digital experiences, we bring ideas to life through thoughtful strategy and strong execution. We work with organizations across higher education, healthcare, public sector and nonprofit industries.

We're looking for someone who can take ownership of photography and video projects from concept through delivery, while bringing an additional skill set that complements our creative team.

We don't expect you to do everything. You might be a strong writer, a natural project manager or someone who enjoys building client relationships. We're interested in finding the right combination of skills and shaping the role around what you bring to the table.

What You'll Do

Photography & Video Production

Photography and video will be the foundation of this role.

  • Plan and execute professional photography assignments, including environmental portraits, editorial storytelling, campaigns, events and organizational photography.
  • Own the photography process from pre-production through post-production, including lighting, shooting, image selection, colour correction, retouching and final delivery.
  • Plan, shoot and edit professional video content, including interviews, testimonials, promotional videos and social content.
  • Manage production requirements including equipment, lighting, audio, locations, scheduling and shot planning.
  • Collaborate with our Creative Director and broader team to develop strong visual approaches that support client objectives.
  • Work independently on smaller productions and alongside our production partners on larger assignments.

Bring Your Other Strengths

Beyond photography and video, we're looking for someone who brings experience or a particular strength in at least one of the following areas:

Writing & Content Development

You enjoy storytelling beyond the camera. You might have experience writing articles, campaign copy, scripts, interview questions, case studies or other communications materials. You can help shape stories from the initial idea through to the finished piece.

Project Management

You're organized, proactive and enjoy seeing projects through from start to finish. You're comfortable managing schedules, coordinating team members, tracking deliverables, gathering client feedback and keeping multiple projects moving.

Client & Account Management

You're a strong communicator who enjoys working directly with clients. You can build relationships, understand client needs, help identify opportunities and take ownership of day-to-day communications on assigned projects.

You don't need to be an expert in all three. We're interested in understanding where your strengths lie and how they could contribute to the studio.

Creative Collaboration

As part of a small creative team, you'll also have opportunities to contribute ideas, participate in creative development and help shape the work we produce. We value people who are curious, collaborative and interested in understanding the bigger picture behind the projects they're working on.

What We're Looking For

Essential experience and skills

  • A strong professional photography portfolio demonstrating versatility, technical ability and a developed visual style.
  • Professional video production experience, including camera operation, lighting, audio and editing.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, along with professional video editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut or DaVinci Resolve.
  • The ability to independently plan, execute and deliver photography and smaller-scale video projects.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients and subjects.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one complementary area: writing/content development, project management or client/account management.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a creative agency or across multiple client accounts.
  • Experience with creative concept development, advertising or marketing campaigns.
  • Motion graphics, animation or additional production capabilities.
  • An interest in contributing to agency strategy and growth.

Where This Role Can Go

We're a growing studio, and we want this role to grow alongside us. While photography and video will remain central to the position, there are opportunities to take on greater responsibility in creative production, content development, project leadership or client relationships depending on your strengths and interests.

We're looking for someone who wants to contribute to the studio beyond their individual assignments and help shape what Hidden Z becomes.

Location and Environment

This is a primarily in-studio position based in London, Ontario. We believe great creative work comes from collaboration, shared ideas and the energy of working together. We're intentionally building a studio culture where our team can connect, create and learn from one another in person. While some flexibility is available, a minimum of four days per week in the studio is an important part of the role.

Location: London, Ontario

Position: Full-time, in-person

Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and demonstrated capabilities.

How to Apply

Send us your resume and a portfolio of photography and video work.

We'd also love to learn about the additional skills you would bring to our team. Whether that's writing samples, examples of projects you've managed, client relationships you've supported or other creative work, show us what makes your experience unique.
