About the Role
We are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead plant production teams safely and efficiently, ensuring forecasted quantities and quality of raw mix, clinker, and cement are met in compliance with environmental guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate safety leadership, reinforce safety messages, and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Protect plant equipment, maximize its utilization and reliability, and produce forecasted quantities and quality with minimal non-compliance.
- Ensure environmental guidelines are followed.
- Manage labour during major turnarounds and ensure lab, control room, and field control parameters are met.
- Lead problem-solving with the team on mechanical, electrical, process, quality, productivity, or manpower issues.
- Represent Production in coordination with other departments and promote strong communication with Maintenance.
- Lead the production teams, ensuring clear communication, cooperation, and teamwork.
- Report on shift activities, safety meetings, and production levels; cover for the Production Manager; complete weekly payroll for production teams.
- Administer the Collective Agreement fairly and consistently, provide grievance counseling, and coordinate employee training.
- Maintain productivity, housekeeping, and quality standards, and achieve personal and departmental goals.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, College diploma, or Technologist certification, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, or Production.
- 2 years of cement manufacturing experience OR 5 years of production supervisory experience in heavy industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and experience with SAP.
- Cement manufacturing knowledge is an asset.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies, with the ability to promote a safety culture.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
