Original job description

Commercial Real Estate - Our client is an established owner, landlord and development firm with a long-standing presence in the GTA.

They are seeking an Assistant Property Manager to join their Brampton-based team and support their commercial portfolio.

Your New Employer

This is a stable, well-established real estate organization. The environment is entrepreneurial, collaborative and refreshingly hands-on, with decisions made close to the properties and senior leadership actively involved in the business.

The team is lean by design, giving employees considerably more exposure and responsibility than they may find within a larger institutional environment. People are encouraged to ask questions, take initiative and get involved wherever needed. For someone looking to build a long-term career in commercial property management, it offers an excellent platform to learn the business from the ground up.

Your Role

Working closely with senior leadership, you will help manage the day-to-day requirements of a commercial portfolio, including tenant communication, property operations, service contracts, work orders, inspections, lease administration, accounting support, budgeting and reporting.

This is not a narrowly defined administrative role. You will spend time at the properties, work directly with tenants and contractors, follow issues through to completion and gradually take ownership of increasingly complex property management responsibilities.

What Sets You Apart

Must have:

-commercial property experience

-experience with on-site visits

-experience with Yardi

And, curiosity about how properties operate and a desire to develop beyond administration into a well-rounded commercial property management professional.

Why Join?

You will work closely with experienced decision-makers, contribute directly to the portfolio and have room to grow as your capabilities develop.

This is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional support role and gain meaningful exposure to operations, tenants, leases, accounting and the financial side of commercial real estate.

Compensation

Base salary of $70,000–$72,000 per year + eligible for a 5% discretionary annual bonus (which is not guaranteed and may vary based on individual and company performance) + benefits + $4,200/year car allowance + 3 weeks' vacation.

Additional Information

This posting is for an existing vacancy. Artificial intelligence-based tools are not used in the screening or selection process for this role.

Take the Next Step

If you have commercial real estate experience and are looking for a role where you can take on more responsibility, broaden your property management skills and continue progressing your career, we will be in touch within 48 hours to discuss how HighView can help you make your Best Next Move.
