Original job description

Our client is an established, privately owned commercial real estate company with a distinctive portfolio of character-rich properties in Toronto. They are seeking a Leasing Associate to support leasing activities across their portfolio, with a primary focus on a landmark commercial property known for its creative businesses and unique character.

This is an opportunity to join a stable, relationship-driven organization where you will work closely with ownership and play an important role in leasing, tenant relationships and portfolio success.

Your New Employer

This is not a traditional corporate real estate environment. As a privately owned organization with a longstanding presence in Toronto, decisions are made collaboratively, ownership is accessible, and relationships matter.

With a well-established portfolio and longstanding tenant relationships, the company offers stability, a close-knit working environment and the opportunity to become an integral part of the business. You'll work alongside an experienced Leasing Manager and gain meaningful exposure to the commercial, legal and financial aspects of leasing.

Your Role

Working closely with the Leasing Manager, you will support leasing activities across the portfolio, from responding to inquiries and conducting property tours to preparing leasing proposals, drafting documents and coordinating transactions.

A significant part of your role involves communicating with commercial real estate agents and prospective tenants, distributing leasing packages and understanding their space requirements, including occupancy timelines, business operations and desired buildouts. You'll conduct regular property tours, answer questions and maintain follow-up throughout the leasing process.

You'll also review rental statements, coordinate lease documentation, maintain accurate leasing records and support marketing activities, including preparing promotional materials and updating website listings.

What Sets You Apart

You bring experience in commercial real estate, leasing administration, legal administration or a related field, along with strong organizational skills and confidence working with contracts and financial information. Paralegal training or experience is an asset, but not mandatory.

You're personable, articulate and genuinely enjoy building relationships. You have excellent attention to detail, sound judgment and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing sight of the people involved.

Most importantly, you're comfortable taking initiative, interacting with tenants and ownership, and balancing detailed administrative work with an active, people-facing leasing role.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to build a long-term career with an established commercial property owner, work directly with decision-makers, and join a team where your contributions are visible and valued.

Compensation

Expected annual compensation of $110,000 - 130,000 based on experience, plus 100% employer-paid benefits, and 3 weeks' vacation.
