About Hillfield Strathallan College

Founded in 1901, Hillfield Strathall an College (HSC) offers a seamless academic journey from 18 months to 18 years. Located on a 50-acre campus on Hamilton's West Mountain, HSC provides a unique educational pathway for students through four school offerings: Junior, Montessori, Middle and Senior. HSC prepares students to live with purpose – to understand their world, inspire, lead, act and make a difference in their own unique ways.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources & Operations, the Human Resources Assistant supports the supply teacher process for the College and provides administrative support to support the HR function.

Responsibillities

Attendance Support
Responsible for booking all supply coverages
Assist with orientation for all new supply staff
Ensure supply staff have necessary information regarding emergency procedures, special schedules and assigned duties (Bus, Lunch, etc.).
Keep information, processes and procedures up to date and relevant.
Ensure wellbeing day processes and procedures are followed according to the policy
Run regular reports for Principals regarding attendance data.
Review system periodically for efficiency and make recommendations for change
Have full understanding of the attendance system and various school schedules within the HRIS.
Identify skill shortages and communicate to the HR Officer.
Other HR Administration
Maintain digital and electronic records of supply teacher records and report quarterly to the Director of HR & Ops..
Serve as a point of contact for supply staff
Approve supply teacher payroll and resolve any payroll errors.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
Minimum of two years of experience providing human resources support
Strong word processing and administrative technology skills, with knowledge of relevant office software and systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Well-developed interpersonal and liaison skills.
Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Annual Salary: $41,596 to $62,393 (please note the salary will be prorated as it is a 10 month position)
