Payroll Manager

HireLoft Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, growing organization in Waterloo Region to hire an experienced Payroll Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to own payroll end to end, lead a small team, and help modernize systems and processes as the organization scales.

What you will do

• Oversee accurate, on-time payroll for over 1,000 employees across multiple unionized pay groups, growing to 10+
• Interpret and apply multiple collective agreements, including premiums, retro pay, seniority, and shift differentials
• Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team
• Partner with Finance and HR on the ADP Workforce Now transition, controls, and process improvement
• Own year-end, including T4s, ROEs, EHT, and WSIB, along with audit support and statutory compliance
• Build scalable processes as new sites come online

What you bring

• Previous experience as a Payroll Manager or Payroll Supervisor
• Hands-on experience with unionized payroll across multiple collective agreements
• Multi-site payroll experience; healthcare, LTC, hospital, or municipal experience is an asset
• ADP Workforce Now experience; implementation experience is a strong asset
• CPM or PCP designation (preferred)
• Able to work from the Waterloo office about 3 days per week
