About the Role

At Hopewell Residential, we believe reliable data and meaningful insights are essential to making informed business decisions. As our Data & Business Intelligence Analyst, you'll play a key role in strengthening how we manage, understand and use data across the organization.

You'll take ownership of our Power BI reporting and Microsoft Fabric environment, developing dashboards, reports and data models that deliver accurate, accessible and actionable information. Working closely with business teams, internal technology partners and external specialists, you'll help improve data quality, strengthen reporting capabilities and support our evolving technology environment.

What You'll Do

Power BI Reporting & Analytics

  • Design, develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models that translate business requirements into accurate, actionable insights.
  • Build and optimize DAX measures, Power Query transformations and data models to improve reporting accuracy and performance.
  • Validate reporting outputs, investigate discrepancies and troubleshoot issues across data sources, models and reports.
  • Support Power BI users through troubleshooting, guidance and training while maintaining clear reporting documentation.

Microsoft Fabric & Platform Management

  • Manage day-to-day Microsoft Fabric and Power BI operations, including workspaces, refresh schedules, gateways, deployments and application publishing.
  • Monitor platform performance, capacity and costs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain security within semantic models, including row-level security, and coordinate access requirements with Information Systems.
  • Establish and maintain platform standards, documentation and best practices while evaluating new Microsoft Fabric capabilities.

Data Management & Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain reusable data models, standardized reporting definitions and documentation of enterprise data structures and relationships.
  • Use SQL to validate and reconcile data, investigate data quality issues and support resolution with system owners.
  • Collaborate with business teams, internal technology partners and external specialists on data integrations, system changes and reporting improvements.
  • Support data governance initiatives, including data quality, consistency, documentation and reporting standards.

About You

You're analytical, technically curious and passionate about turning complex data into reliable, meaningful information. You enjoy getting into the details, investigating issues and finding practical solutions that improve how people work with data.

You're comfortable taking ownership of reporting solutions while collaborating with colleagues across different departments. You communicate technical concepts clearly, stay organized when managing competing priorities and take pride in delivering accurate, well-documented work.

You Also Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in data analytics, computer science, information systems, business intelligence or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4–6 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting or analytics, including at least 3 years developing Power BI reports and semantic models in a production environment.
  • Advanced Power BI skills, including dimensional modelling, DAX, Power Query (M), report design and Power BI Service.
  • Experience managing Power BI or Microsoft Fabric workspaces, refresh schedules, gateways, deployment pipelines, application publishing and row-level security.
  • Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience, or Power BI Premium capacity experience with the ability to quickly develop Fabric expertise.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, relational databases and data modelling principles.
  • Experience validating and reconciling data across systems and troubleshooting complex reporting issues.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to document technical processes and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

The Following Would Be Considered Assets:

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric data engineering tools, including lakehouses, warehouses, data pipelines, Dataflows Gen2 or notebooks using PySpark or Spark SQL.
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) or DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer).
  • Familiarity with Git integration, Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, ETL/ELT processes or APIs.
  • Exposure to emerging Microsoft Fabric capabilities, including Fabric IQ, data agents or Copilot in Power BI.
