Original job description
Horizon Health Network is excited to welcome a skilled and compassionate Vascular Surgeon to our team. We’re looking for someone who is not only experienced in diagnosing and treating vascular conditions but also passionate about delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to perform a wide range of surgical procedures, support patients through every step of their care journey, and collaborate closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. A strong foundation in acute care and pain management, along with comfort using electronic health record systems such as Cerner, will help you succeed in this position.
At Horizon, we believe in working together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and our communities. If you are looking for an environment that values collaboration, compassion, and excellence, we would love to hear from you.
Why you should work here
You can live in a safe, welcoming community with a relaxed lifestyle, and the opportunity to finally have work-life balance. Have you ever wanted to live by the ocean? How about a river? Or a lake? We have all of those! How can you afford not to move here? You’ll work with great people and enjoy a big yard (room for a pool, space for kids to play, pets to roam), loads of recreational activities and an average 20-minute commute. Working for Horizon provides a career that makes a big difference in the lives of New Brunswickers, as well as the coveted east coast lifestyle.
Remuneration and Incentives
Remuneration for this opportunity is billed Fee-For-Service, which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare New Brunswick.
- Recruitment Incentive: $50,000 (with 2-year retention contract).
- Relocation support is also available.
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with completion of a residency in vascular surgery.
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in vascular surgery is preferred.
- Proven experience in acute care settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency with electronic health record systems such as Cerner.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Commitment to ongoing education and research within the field of vascular surgery.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and surgical procedures related to vascular conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, considering their unique medical histories and needs.
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups to monitor patient recovery.
- Administer medications as required and manage pain effectively for patients undergoing surgical interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care, including data collection for ongoing research initiatives.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and their families about vascular health, treatment options, and post-operative care instructions.
- Stay updated on advancements in vascular surgery techniques and participate in continuous professional development.
