- Assist with scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Monitor staffing and labour based on hotel occupancy, Bistro activity, and banquet requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized, properly stocked, and guest-ready restaurant, kitchen, storage, and banquet areas.
- Assist with purchasing, receiving, inventories, product rotation, storage, waste control, and operating supplies.
- Follow established procedures for cash, credit, room charges, discounts, tips, point-of-sale transactions, and shift documentation.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure food safety, responsible alcohol service, workplace safety, accessibility, and hotel policies are followed.
- Identify equipment or facility concerns and follow up with Maintenance and hotel leadership.
- Assist with menu development, seasonal features, promotions, specials, and other food and beverage initiatives.
- Participate in the hotel’s Manager on Duty program when assigned.
Qualifications
- At least one year of previous food and beverage experience in a restaurant, hotel, banquet, or culinary operation.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is preferred.
- Experience working across front-of-house, kitchen, and banquet operations is an asset.
- Strong communication, organization, and guest-service skills.
- A practical leadership style and willingness to work directly alongside the team.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions during busy service periods.
- Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, inventory, and cost controls.
- Experience with Micros Simphony or another point-of-sale system is an asset.
- Valid FOODSAFE and Serving It Right certifications, or the ability to obtain both within the required timeframe.
- High school diploma or equivalent; related post-secondary education is an asset.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
