About HR Offscript

HR Offscript redefines traditional HR. We are a fractional HR firm for growing companies across BC and Alberta, acting as the HR function for founders and leadership teams who need real HR without building a full department. We create HR that hits different: grounded in clarity, commercial thinking, and impact. We cut the noise, skip the policies no one reads, and build practical, people-first tools that drive the business.

The Role

We’re looking for an HR Advisor who believes HR is a business discipline, not an administrative function. You’ll be the day-to-day HR contact for a portfolio of BC clients: the person they call when they need to hire, build their onboarding and talent strategy, deal with a performance issue, or get their HR foundations in place.

This is a full-time, fully hybrid role. We’re looking for someone based in Victoria, BC, close enough to meet clients in person when needed. You’ll work alongside our senior HR Partners and learn how fractional HR gets done well.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the HR lead for a portfolio of small and mid-sized BC clients across industries.
  • Handle real issues: employee relations, performance conversations, hiring, onboarding and offboarding.
  • Keep clients compliant with BC employment standards and out of trouble.
  • Build practical HR tools clients actually use including handbooks, job descriptions, onboarding plans, and performance frameworks.
  • Work with our HR Partners on larger projects such as org design, compensation and leadership development.
  • Spot where clients need more help and bring those opportunities to the team.
  • Turn what works for one client into repeatable tools the whole team can use.

What Success Looks Like in Your First 6 Months

  • You’re the trusted day-to-day HR contact for your client portfolio.
  • Clients get clear, practical answers fast, and issues are resolved before they escalate.
  • You’ve delivered at least two HR tools or programs that clients are actually using.
  • Leaders describe working with you as clear, practical, and easy.

About You

  • You think and speak business first, HR second.
  • You move quickly and communicate clearly.
  • You value simplicity and practicality over HR theatre.
  • You enjoy solving messy people problems with clean, direct solutions.
  • You can give a business owner a straight answer and back it up.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of HR generalist experience, ideally in small or mid-sized organizations.
  • Working knowledge of the BC Employment Standards Act and core HR practices.
  • CPHR designation, or actively working toward it.
  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.

What You’ll Get

  • $65,000 to $75,000 per year, based on experience.
  • Group health and dental benefits, plus a health spending account.
  • 3 weeks' vacation.
  • Monthly cell phone allowance.
  • Fully hybrid, with flexible hours.
  • Mentorship from HR leaders with experience in world-class organizations.
  • Real founders, real problems, every industry.
  • A culture that values clarity, ownership, and real impact.

How to Apply
