Field Engineer

HR Project Partners is currently accepting résumés for Mechanical and Piping Field Engineers to support our client’s operations. The duration of the role is 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

This position is located in Hamilton, ON.

Prior experience in mining and steel manufacturing industry an asset.

Essential Job Functions:

The Field engineer will support the Engineering and Construction team in understanding and executing the engineering deliverables. They should be able to proactively identify site issues and accurately communicate any design changes to project engineers for review and action. Tasks include:

• Provide on-site technical support
• Support and manage project execution
• Inspect structural steel installations for integrity and compliance with standards
• Take various measurements at site to assist engineering
• Assist the engineering designers with tie-ins
• Participate in construction reviews
• Document progress and compile reports as needed
• Suggest site modifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Interprovincial Red Seal in Mechanical or Piping discipline; or Engineering Technology diploma
• 5+ year’s experience on large industrial construction sites required
• Prior experience in mining and steel manufacturing industry an asset
• Experience reading and understanding blueprints, engineering drawings, P&ID’s
• Experience with P6 Planning software and MS Projects
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods, walking on rough terrain)
